Genetic and the Church.

Also submitted this to the 3x3 competition. This was an editorial piece I did for class last semester about a scientific branch of the Vatican. People in class didn't seem to pick up on the idea that the corn was supposed to be genetically modified. The ears are supposed to resemble the fleur-de-lis, which is a symbol of the trinity.

I don't think I formatted this submission right, if so, it probably won't be considered. Which blows, 'cause it seems 3x3 deals with largely editorial stuff, and I really like this piece. Oh, well.

SCHOOLIN'EM

Submitted some pieces for the 3x3 annual student competition; this one included.

I've had this image in mind for a while. I feel like I saw it in a dream, but I'm not sure. The image of 'MacDonald versus Sperm Whale' was more or less a warm up for this. I'm really getting comfortable applying a range of color to compliment the linework. I think line is absolutely beautiful; but it can be restrictive, and a compulsory input of black is a thorny thing to get around. I am really satisfied with this piece.

Incidently, a group of whales, I realize, is referred to as a pod, not a school. But still an awesome title.

a little different

I love linework. Incidently, I've been dropping sketches into photoshop and just coloring them. I tried sketching this directly into photoshop using areas of color opposed to line.

It always appears that when I do think digitally there is a serious absence of contrast. I ought address that more thoroughly.

big wig

Bigwig, one of the badass bunnies from the story, Watership Down. A book at first, apparently; also was made into an animated movie. I've put a link that has end of the movie with Bigwig fighting another rabbit. Demonstrates some frank badassery, I feel. Outstanding.

I don't know why this person has put lion king music to it.

EAT ME

Thing for my digital painting class. The prompt was a "fantastic restaurant".

MacDonald versus Sperm Whale

I figure a more hands-on approach to whaling would be an exciting thing. You know, without
a boat and all.

Motivation for this doodle was thinking about living in the Arctic, north of the tree line, and
what might be done to stave off boredom, especially if one is a particular antagonistic
personality.
